The Lord placed this song before me and this word on my heart as I was departing for work this morning. “Do Everything” is the perfect upbeat number for a Monday morning that inspires you to get up and greet the day with a smile. And even though Monday is waning, I wanted to release this post because I feel quite sure the message will apply to anyone, any day, any time.  Twice in Colossians 3, Paul echoed the words of this song. That means he was stating this with some emphasis!

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”  (Colossians 3:17)

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that your will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward.  (Colossians 3:23-24)

Look carefully to these words. “Whatever you do” applies to the grandest or most menial of tasks. This reminder places my focus on Him all day long whatever the situation. What an honor and privilege to do this as a child of God, to bring my Heavenly Father glory, to be His representative here on earth!

Now let’s not forget the giving thanks part…for a myriad of blessings starting with being given another day here on this earth, a job to go to, health, food, shelter…you take it from there! As the song says, the list goes on and on! Praise God!

So, we have our assignment! “Bring a smile to His face, tell His story of grace with every little thing you do!” Please take time to listen to the song, and perhaps it will resonate in your head for many tomorrows! (The video is a fun one to watch!) What a cool life-song it would be. Remember, it’s not about us.  It’s all about Him! To God Be the Glory!
