A Must Share God Wink!

In a post just last week entitled “Tunnel Vision,” I shared my stalking of a very elusive Indigo Bunting which I was attempting to photograph. The picture I shared then was quite blurry and did no justice to the true beauty of this creation of God.  IMG_7986

However, a few days later I noticed one of these little fellows enjoying the corn we deliver for our ducks to partake of each day.  The problem then became the fence between the bird and the lens, and obviously stalking was not the answer!

Not ready to give up, I placed a hefty amount of corn inside my fenced in back yard in hopes of a closer viewing. And it worked!!! Initially there were just two and by week’s end there were as many ten magnificently blue birds within feet of our house.

Nevertheless, these birds startle so very easily. They would all take flight with even the turn of the doorknob for me to step out and capture a picture. Undaunted, I set my camera up on a tripod aiming it through the bedroom window closest to all the activity. After a few pictures, I realized how much in need of cleaning my windows were. Got to put that on the to do list!IMG_7804

After a vigorous cleaning of the one panel I needed to take pictures through, it was on. In the last five days I have probably taken 250 pictures of the Indigo Buntings as well as some other birds like the cardinal and Baltimore Oriole who dropped in to photo bomb my efforts. Now that was just icing on the cake, especially the Baltimore Oriole! (Could have done without the five squirrels who also materialized!)

God delights in delighting me in this way because of His great love for me.  I am so reminded of the verse in Ephesians 3:20 which states, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…” I never thought that my desire for a picture of one bird would evolve into the appearance of an entire flock and then some. What an awesome God Wink!

The Bible states in James 4:2, “You have not because you do not ask God.”  Can I tell you that I had whispered a little prayer about acquiring this picture. I have learned that God hears the most seemingly insignificant of my prayers. Why who besides God would have cared if this desire of mine came to pass?  That is why for days on end I have peered through a camera lens with the biggest of smiles on my face praising Him for the beauty before my eyes and the wink in my direction!

IMG_8038Spend a moment now thinking what you might want to ask of God down to the smallest detail then…ASK! Let your request be made with respect and latitude for the will of God for your life to be considered utmost in His response. Then, be watchful and expectant so you do not miss your God Wink! To God Be the Glory!
