God’s Purpose Prevails

“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’S purpose that prevails.”             (Proverbs 19:21)

Of late I have become increasingly more aware of the absolute truth that God makes all things beautiful in His time, just as it says in Ecclesiastes 3:11. Today was one of those God’s moments for me…His time for me to face and defeat Satan’s attackmagnolia with verse on my mind and my future.

For some time now, I have felt hemmed in by circumstances and people and time. As crazy as it sounds, I truly believed myself, my life to be limited by these factors.  You see I have these dreams, big dreams of doing something awesome for God. However, the dreams have seemed out of reach.  To begin with, I am not getting any younger. Surprise, surprise! Time, energy and health are becoming an issue.

Circumstances…well, life with a special needs child brings with it a plethora of circumstances. As for people, when you see yourself through their eyes you can feel absolutely worthless, like you have nothing to offer that counts.  And before you know it, there you are stuck in a ditch with all these nonsense lies of Satan which on the surface seem to be quite factual, but in actuality hold no truth.

Here is the truth.  God has a purpose for my life just as he has for yours.  And no circumstance or person or calendar age can keep me from that. On the surface my life may seem boxed in, but in the Heavenly realms God is nudging me back on the path toward my purpose where he has planned exceedingly, abundant abundantly above all that we ask or think or hope.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”    (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Today, I claim that verse for myself and stand firmly on this promise.  Join me! Let’s not waste another moment feeling and living as though the world has the power to stifle the plans of God. Look at yourself only through His eyes of love where you have worth, and beauty, a hope and a future. Don’t allow nay-sayers to question your abilities to execute what God has made you to do.  Walk ever so closely to Him so He can whisper His plans to you for each day.  Walk in confidence in Him and His purpose for your life.  Watch as He opens doors of grace you never dreamed of passing through.  This is my game plan, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me, for us!

I will walk with more joy today because this truth has been revealed to me in God’s perfect timing. Believers, so often we hold truth in our heads but not in our hearts. Today, this truth is firmly planted in my heart. Praise God! His purpose for our lives eclipse any earthly barriers…it prevails! Get out of the ditch, live outside of the box, and forge ahead in Him. To God Be the Glory!

I smile, Amy, as I read your Blog this morning. I have been right there. Infact I have Ephesians 3:20-21 hand written and taped on my cabinet in the kitchen. To remind me daily of God’s earth shattering ability…..that I know….but as you say, satan tried to make us forget. We are right where God wants us…..Our responsibility to do our best right where we are. What an inspiration you are to so many. If we could only look down from Heaven and see what Our Lord sees…..the big picture. I love you, Patricia
