My patriotic heart beats red, white, and blue. ~Author Unknown  This picture I have entitled “Flags Proudly Flying Over Holcomb.” It was a beautiful sight to watch as the wind gracefully unfurled one flag and then the next in the row lining the highway. This small community is making a definite statement about their love of America and the freedom it stands for. 

So much, people! So very, very much to be thankful for today, despite the fact that the rain is pouring down where I live and may impede the cooking of hotdogs, swimming and shooting of fireworks. Take a moment today to reflect on all we are blessed with as citizens of this great nation. Honor the lives that were lost to protect, preserve and build our the United States of America. Pray for the soldiers who stand in the gap for us each day so that we may rest safely at night and go about our daily routines.  Lift up the families of these soldiers who are in war zones and those who daily mourn a loved one lost in service to our country.

Be thankful! We forget to be thankful for the magnitude of meaning this holiday holds. Be proud to be an American. Praise God and ask His guidance and hand of blessing on our country. Enjoy your day!  To God Be the glory!
