Held In the Arms of God

Since writing my last post, I had the opportunity to see Casting Crowns in concert. Can you say…AWESOME!  Mark Hall was performing his second concert since recovering from the removal of a diseased kidney. He shared his testimony with tears and praises as he spoke of how God carried and held him during this trial. Can I say his sense of humor made it through the experience intact!

What a powerful example of faith he displayed as he chose to walk with the Lord by his side through the diagnosis, surgery, pain, and recovery. Notice I wrote chose. He made a conscious decision to seek the face of God during this time. “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” (Psalm 105:4)

Though still in pain, Mark never missed a note as he praised God with all that was within him. The song I am sharing today is entitled “Just Be Held.” Mark commented that when he wrote this song two years ago he had no idea it would be for himself, for this time.

This song holds a special place in my heart as well. It is a precious reminder that, “when life hits you out of nowhere and barely leaves you hanging on,” you have a Heavenly Father who is waiting for you to release your control, your pain, your emotions and “just be held.”

We have all been in those places, perhaps you are in one now, where all seems lost and you have reached the end of your rope. The situation you face is not going away any time soon, and perhaps has no miraculous resolution. The walk through the valley cannot be avoided. That is when you must let go and let God hold you and bathe you in His love and peace. There is no better place to be! This is the only place to be.Image-1

I leave you with this verse and the above mentioned song. “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) I pray God’s blessings and presence in whatever you may be facing. Remember to share your testimony of how He held you when you walk out of the valley and the sun hits your face and begin your climb back up the mountain with God still holding your hand.

Listen to this song as many times as you have to until you let go and crawl into God’s lap. Allow him to hold you, to sing over you, to comfort you. To God Be the Glory!
