Gazing at God

imageHello, All! Hope your week has gone well and you are fueling up on Sunday for the new week.  My daily quiet times this week have been daily reminders that no matter what we are going through, what good or bad a day might hold, there is ALWAYS peace to be found in Jesus.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in time of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” (Psalm 46:1-2)

A sentence from Sara Young’s book “Jesus Today” has been my mantra this week. “Gaze at me Me; Glance at problems–This is the secret to living victoriously.” Is that profound and dead on or what!?

“Let us fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18)

This truth is perfectly exemplified in the story of Peter walking on water toward Jesus.  Eyes on Jesus…all was fine.  Eyes on the wind and storm brought on fear, leading to doubt, causing Peter to sink.

We all know what that sinking feeling feels like. Not good is it? Let’s begin this week gazing at Jesus regardless of how strong the winds are that Satan threatens us with. Battle those winds with scriptures like those above, claim the victory and Praise the Lord in advance for His answers! Eyes up! To God Be the Glory!
