My name is Amy and I live in the Heart of Dixie! Southern born and raised, I say “Y’all,” drink sweet tea, and often find myself saying “Bless your heart!” I chased lightning bugs as a kid, learned hospitality from my grandmother, and must confess I have never fried chicken though I love eating it!
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Eddy, for thirty-two years. Though he says he fell in love with me in the second grade, we were high school sweethearts. He is my biggest fan, my strongest encourager, my best friend and the love of my life. God made him just for me!
God answered my heart’s desire–that of becoming a mother. My son, Ben, is twenty-seven and has high functioning autism. The challenges have been overwhelming at times, but God always walks by my side. My daughter, Miriam, is twenty-three, keeps me young and makes me laugh. I could never have imagined how wonderful, heartbreaking, frustrating, maturing, and rewarding motherhood is without these two. I thank God for them everyday.
Our fifth family member is a Yorkshire Terrier named Max who doesn’t know he is a dog. He snores, makes me smile, and has taken on a raccoon when our yard has been invaded. Of course, he is the cutest, smartest dog in the world, and I don’t know how we ever did without him.
Each day is an opportunity for me to live out my purpose in God’s Kingdom by sharing my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in words, photographs, and music. My gift is that of encouragement, and it is my hope that those who read my blog posts will leave strengthened in their walk with Christ or introduced to Him for the first time. To God Be the Glory!
