Are You On Fire For God?

I know you may be thinking “been there, done that” when you see the title. However, I think the song “On Fire” in this post addresses the reality of a loss of “spiritual fire” as it evokes memories of a life lived for Christ that has burned down to embers, barely glowing. Where the song “Soul On Fire” pictures you running full-out toward Christ, this song may sting a little as you realize how far you have drifted from Him.IMG_1651

How much heat is being emitted from your relationship with Christ?  What does Sunday really mean for you…an obligation or a time of praise, worship and growth. How routine has your life become…going through the motions? It’s not like we are doing something horribly wrong. The fact is that what we are doing has lost its significance and purpose. And a life lived without purpose leaves us moving in slow motion, vulnerable to a full on attack by Satan.

This song ends with the chorus of “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.”  The words are as follows:

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus.  Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”

May this song bring us all into full focus on Jesus, on what church is about, on what our lives are about. May what distracts us from our beautiful Savior fall distantly into the background as we live our lives for Him in all that we do. And though we may fail, remember His mercies are new every morning.  Just keep returning to Him.  To God Be the Glory!
