The Full Armor of God…The Belt of Truth

IMG_0741

A dear friend recently illustrated to me how to put on the full armor of God in the most beautiful way through prayer. I had discussed with her the fact that this had been on my mind of late. Studied it when I was a child, but I have never applied it to my life on a daily basis. With the recent battles against Satan becoming so intense, God now has me doing this on a daily basis. The following text is copied from WikiHow.

The passages of scripture are from The Bible. I figured why write something that has already been explained so clearly. My hope is that you will join me in putting on your armor of God every morning before you face the day! Since the material is lengthy, I will spread it across the span of several days and give you time to digest the material. To God Be the Glory!

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:11-13, NIV  (Emphasis mine)

Every Christian needs to know how to battle evil. God gives us detailed instructions on how to battle evil.

1.The Belt (of Truth): “Stand firm in the belt of truth buckled around your waist” Ephesians 6:14. The belt of truth involves two places; our hearts and our minds. Truth keeps us secure in Christ and makes effective all the other pieces of armour. The belt of truth holds our amour in place. Commit yourself daily to walk in the light of God’s truth. “Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth!” Psalm 86:11

Tomorrow…The Breastplate of Righteousness!

For today practice donning the Belt of Truth!

I have always noticed that in v13 it says’having done everything, to stand’. V14 then begins with the same word, ‘stand’. The armour will keep us standing in the battles we may face.
